Student Reception 

The student reception provides an opportunity for students to network with employers and seasoned process improvement professionals.

Speed Networking 

If you are looking for a fun and dynamic way to meet new colleagues and kick-off the conference in style, join our free “Speed Networking” event, just before our Welcome Reception.

In round-robin style you will be paired up with other conference attendees to chat briefly and exchange ideas. This is a great way to expand your circle of contacts and make new friends. Be sure to sign up for this fun event when you register for the conference!

Welcome Reception 

The Healthcare Systems Conference Organizing Committee and the Society for Health Systems Board welcome you to the 2017 conference.

Light snacks and beverages will be served. Highlights of the welcome reception include:

  • Catch up with old friends or make new friends
  • Opportunity to participate in fun networking competitions

Thursday, March 2

Welcome Address
The session will feature a presentation on member benefits, a brief orientation for navigating the meeting, and a chance to relax and connect with colleagues. Representatives from the SHS Board and other committees will facilitate networking tables where you can meet other members who share your professional interests.

Networking Reception
This reception provides the perfect atmosphere for fellowship and networking, while also having a bit of fun after a long day of sessions. The Networking Reception is the perfect venue to meet with colleagues and visit the exhibits.

Dutch Treat Dinners
Dutch treat dinners are the highlight of the HSPI Conference! This wonderful program connects you with some of the most enthusiastic members. We know the conference can be a bit overwhelming if you are attending for the first time and our hope is that these casual meetings will connect you with new people and help you feel comfortable, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the Healthcare Systems Process Improvement Conference. When you register at the conference, you will have the opportunity to sign up on a first-come, first-served basis for a restaurant that will already have tables reserved.

Breakfast with the Exhibitors
We invite and encourage attendees to visit with our exhibiting companies at the Healthcare Systems Process. Enjoy continental breakfast and spend time with some of the finest suppliers who will listen to your needs and help you find the best solution. 

Lean Cocktails
What is Lean Cocktails?  Lean Cocktails is an opportunity for HSPIC 2017 attendees to wind down their conference and network with colleagues before heading home. This informal networking event will begin with a structured but agenda-less discussion around topics that are important to the group. After this informal discussion, the group is welcome to attend a dutch dinner treat at a nearby restaurant. This meeting will provide the opportunity discuss ideas, experiences, issues and/or improvements in healthcare. It is also an opportunity to share and learn from your peers.

Who should join? Any HSPIC 2017 attendee.

What to bring?
1. Please brainstorm ahead of time and bring at least two topics to discuss during the meeting.
2. A willingness to share your experiences so we can learn from each other and improve.
3. Money/credit cards for cocktails and dinner
4. Business cards

Meeting plan
1. Set up a personal kanban: Create three categories: items to discuss, currently discussing, and discussed.
2. Determine what to discuss: Each person writes down ideas on Post-it notes. Once complete, each person briefly explains their topic.
3. Vote and talk: Priority vote on selected topics. Each person gets two votes. Place votes by putting tic marks on the post-it notes. Begin group discussion with the post-it note with the most votes. Talk for five minutes. Vote thumbs up or thumbs down to continue the discussion. If thumbs up, talk for three minutes. If thumbs down, move the next most popular topic.
