IIE Membership Grades

IIE membership grades offer personal distinction as you move forward in your career.

Professional Members (annual dues $149, plus a one-time application fee of $15) are entitled to all the benefits of membership, may vote in IIE elections, and may hold any IIE office except for those on the Board of Trustees. Join as a professional member.

Senior Members (annual dues $149)
are professional members recognized for their tenure in the profession. They are entitled to all the benefits of membership, may vote in IIE elections, and may hold IIE offices. Only senior members may hold an elected position on IIE’s Board of Trustees and receive the IIE Fellow Award. The requirements for senior membership vary according to one’s educational degrees and years of practice in the profession.

Retired Members (annual dues $74.50) are recognized upon application once a member has reached 60 years of age, has paid dues for 25 consecutive years, and is fully retired from work. They are entitled to all the benefits of membership, may vote in IIE elections, and may hold IIE offices. Contact IIE Member and Customer Support to determine your eligibility.

Life Members (annual dues $74.50) are recognized upon application if a member’s age and continuous years of membership for which dues were paid total 100. They are entitled to all the benefits of membership, may vote in IIE elections, and may hold IIE offices. Contact IIE Member and Customer Support to determine your eligibility.

Student Members (annual dues $35) are entitled to all the benefits of membership and may vote in chapter, society, and division elections only. They may hold any chapter, society, or division office except the most senior office of that group. To qualify, an individual must be enrolled as a full-time student as defined by their college or university. Join as student member.

First-Year Graduating Members (annual dues $74.50) are those who are transitioning from student to professional member. Student members become eligible for discounted professional dues in their first year following graduation. They are entitled to all the benefits of membership, may vote in IIE elections, and may hold IIE offices (except for those on the Board of Trustees). Membership dues are $74.50 for the first year after graduation and $149 thereafter.
