Facility Tour 

Facility tours offer an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at continuous improvement in action at various facilities in a variety of industries. Facility tours require pre-registration and separate fees. All tours depart from the Embassy Suites Orlando-Lake Buena Vista South. Roundtrip motor coach transportation is included in the fee. Space on tours is limited. Register early to ensure your space on the tours.

Walt Disney World® Resort – Textile Services
1:30 – 4 p.m.

At nearly 40-square-miles, the Walt Disney World® Resort is the most-visited touristic destination in the world. It includes four theme parks, two water parks, 35 on-site themed resort hotels and a retail, dining and entertainment district. To support our day-to-day park and resort operations, our back-of-house facilities play an integral role behind the scenes to make sure our guests have a memorable and seamless experience.

This is one of the three facilities that serves more than 28,000 rooms across property and processes 100+ million pounds of laundry a year. The tour will provide a general overview of the area and walk attendees through various examples of how Disney Industrial Engineers help drive efficiency through value add process improvements across the Walt Disney World® Resort.

Please note the following restrictions:

  • Cameras: Cameras cannot be used during the tour.
  • Special Needs/Equipment/Shoes: There will be light to moderate walking in non-air conditioned space, so comfortable shoes and clothing should be worn. Shoes cannot be open-toe style. Tennis shoes, rubber soles, good traction or heals less than one inch are appropriate. Those traveling in a wheel chair or using other mobility assistance devices can be accommodated on this tour.
  • Competitors Accepted: Yes
  • Age: Participant must be 18 or older.
