New Journal For Better Enterprises

Deadline for papers is May 1

IIE is launching a new quarterly journal titled The Journal of Enterprise Transformation, a joint publication with the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) and the Lean Advancement Initiative at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

There will be four focused issues each year addressing the following topics:

  • The intellectual agenda of enterprise transformation
  • Enterprise change and continuity
  • Enterprise transformation in action
  • Enterprise modeling

The inaugural issue will be available in March 2011, and the guest editors are now seeking submissions for the second issue. The second issue has a target publication date of June 2011 and will focus on enterprise change and continuity. According to publisher Taylor & Francis, the issue is an attempt to explore the tensions of managing change and continuity in an enterprise, particularly from a strategic perspective.

“The [journal] will be essential reading for professionals and researchers working in enterprise-level planning, managing organizational transformation or working in related research areas. It will provide a window to the future by publishing advanced thinking around enterprise transformation,” said Donna Calvert, IIE director of corporate operations.

The submission deadline for the second issue (Volume 1, Issue 2) is May 1. Papers will be subjected to a thorough peer-review process. To be considered for the special issue, submit papers no longer than 30 double-spaced pages to Sushil at or Stan Rifkin at
