New for the Healthcare Systems Process Improvement Conference 2015 – An Exciting Student Simulation Competition!

FlexSim Healthcare

Teams of a maximum of four IE students solve a "real-world" healthcare situational case study using FlexSim's simulation software. This case study is prepared by FlexSim. Student team members and their faculty advisors are not required to be members of IIE or SHS to enter the competition, but they will become SHS members if they are one of the three teams selected to compete at the finals courtesy of FlexSim. The finalists must be able to attend the Healthcare Systems Process Improvement Conference, Feb. 18-20, 2015, in Orlando, Florida.

2015 Society for Health Systems Graduate Student Paper Competition

Ohio University

The Society for Health Systems (SHS) is pleased to announce the 2015 Graduate Student Paper Competition!

The winning submission will receive a $1,000 cash award and $500 per team for travel expenses to present their project at the Healthcare Systems Process Improvement Conference 2015, held Feb. 18-20, 2015, in Orlando, Florida. The submission deadline is Dec. 20, 2014. Paper submissions can include multiple student authors and should describe applied projects, research results, case studies, class projects or other work efforts in which industrial engineering skills were applied to a problem arising in healthcare systems engineering. The first author on the paper must be a student. Judging criteria are based on originality, technical merit, relevance, organization and quality of the paper.
