K. When referring to storage capacity, two to the tenth power, 1024 in decimal notation.

KEY. (1) (ANSI/ISO) An identifier within a set of data elements. (2) (ANSI/ISO) One or more characters, within a set of data, that contains information about the set, including its identification. (3) In a record, a data element whose value is unique for each occurrence of the record and is used to identify or locate the record in a database management system. (4) (ANSI) On a keyboard, a manually actuated mechanism that performs a specific operation or causes the printing of a particular character.

KEYWORD. (1) (ANSI) In a programming language, a token that is usually specified by the language, and that uniquely characterizes a statement, or part of the statement; e.g. In some languages IF designates an IF-statement. (2) (ANSI) One of the predefined words of an artificial language. (3) (ANSI) Syn: descriptor, in the context of information retrieval.
