This course teaches participants the Kaizen (pronounced ky-ZEHN) approach to process improvement: diagramming a job step-by-step, putting workers at the center, giving them a sense of the total process they're involved in and then freeing them to think of ways to best do their jobs. Kaizen is a lean implementation event that begins with creating a Value Stream Map (VSM) delineating the critical material and information flows within the organization's value-creating process and then improving that process.
The ultimate purpose is to identify high impact improvement opportunities that will drive breakthrough business performance. Pathways include the movement of incoming raw materials and information through operations to the shipping of finished goods or services. Information pathways include customer communications, transactions with your organization and supplier communications
