Finalists of the SEMS Best Paper Competition at the ISERC 2012 Engineering Management Track
The Society for Engineering and Management Systems for many years has organized a Best Paper Competition among all the accepted papers of the Engineering Management Track of the Industrial and Systems Engineering Research Conference (ISERC). The five finalists for the SEMS Best Paper Competition in 2012, obtained through the ranking of the reviewer evaluation scores of the 78 accepted papers of the Engineering Management Track, represent contributions that are recognized by peers as most impressive pieces of work. The winner of the competition is determined by a committee of five neutral and experienced evaluators that, through a double blind review process, are requested to individually rank order the best paper finalists.
Two finalist papers are featured this month:
"Sustainability operations management: an overview of research trends" by Carla Gonçalves Machado, Pamela Mocelin Manfrin, Edson Pinheiro de Lima, Wesley Vieira da Silva, and Cristiano de Oliveira Maciel
"Social issues in sustainable supply chain networks: state of the art and further research directions" by I. Borrella, R. Carrasco-Gallego, J. Moreno, and C. Mataix
