REFERENCE GROUP. A group with which an individual identifies whether or not he or she is an actual member.
RESPONSIBILITY. Responsibility originates when one accepts the assignment to perform assigned duties and activities. The acceptance creates a liability for which the assignee is held answerable for and to their assignor. It constitutes an obligation or accountability for performance.
ROLE. The concept of role can be used in three distinct ways: a) the demands of a given social position as determined by the pressures of the social group on the individual, b) an individual's own conception of the part someone in his position is supposed to play in an organization, c) the actions of individuals in terms of their relevance or implications for a social structure and its norms. It refers to the ways members of a position act with or without conscious design, in accord with or in violation of organizational norms.
