Advertising policies

Billing and payment terms

Invoices are dated on the issue date and are payable in U.S. funds upon receipt. Non-receipt of tearsheets and/or checking copies is not accepted as a reason for non-payment. If charges due publisher from agency for advertisements placed in conformance with this rate card are not paid properly, publisher may collect said charges from advertiser, and agency shall execute all necessary assignments.

Contract periods are 12 months beginning with the first insertion date. Advertisers are billed or credited at the lowest rate earned by the number of advertisements during the contract period.

Publishing policies

All advertisements are subject to the publisher's approval. The publisher reserves the right to reject or cancel any advertisement that does not meet the publisher's standards, for whatever reason, at any time. In consideration of publication of an advertisement, the advertiser and agency, jointly and severally, will indemnify and hold harmless Industrial Engineer and the Institute of Industrial Engineers, its officers, agency, and employees against expenses (including legal fees) and losses resulting from the publication of the contents of the advertisement, including without limitation, claims, or suits for libel, violation of right of privacy, copyright infringement, or plagiarism.

Publisher reserves the right to place the word "advertisement" in advertising that, in publisher’s opinion, resembles editorial. In consideration of Industrial Engineer reviewing for acceptance, or acceptance of, any advertising for publication, the agency and advertiser agree not to make any promotional reference to the magazine in any way except with the prior written permission of the publisher for each such use.

All advertisements are accepted and published by the publisher on the representation of agency and advertiser that both are authorized to publish the entire contents and subject matter of the advertisement. Publisher shall not be liable for failure to print, publish, or circulate all or any portion of any issue in which an advertisement accepted by publisher is contained, if such failure is due to natural disasters, strikes, accidents, or other circumstances beyond publisher’s control.
