VARIANT PROCESS PLANNING. Process planning based on the retrieval and modification of existing plans of similar components.
VELOCITY ERROR. In a servomechanism that operates a manipulator joint, the difference between the rate of change of the actual position of that joint and the rate of change of the commanded position.
VIA POINT. In robot trajectory control, intemmediate locations used to guide the robot path.
VIRTUAL CELL. A software implementation of a manufacturing cell where work stations or support systems are dynamically assigned or allocated to a cell controller which is responsible for the manufacture of a family of parts.
VOLATILE MEMORY. A memory that loses its information if the power is removed from it.
